Niko nije bio u centru pažnje ljubitelja fudbala kao centarfor Fulama, iako su između ostalih igrali Kevin de Brujne, Romelu Lukaku, Garet Bejl, Edin Džeko, Antoan Grizman, Kilijan Mbape, Pol Pogba, Erling Haland, Kristijano Ronaldo, Luka Modrić…
Mitrović nije bio strijelac od oktobra prošle godine, od remija Srbije sa Turskom (2:2), čak 24 utakmice, ali mu je u dresu državnog tima bilo dovoljno sedam minuta da pokaže klasu.
